I am possibly the most indecisive and mind changing person ever, seriously, it has gotten to a point where I make everything Black and White so I will lower the risk that I will change my mind about it in the future, and when it comes to Fragrance’s I am no different. Over the years I have picked up many Scents that later thought, hmmm I am not such a fan of this and lets talk about why.
Lovely By Sarah Jessica Parker:
This was my first ever ‘Grown Up’ Scent. I first purchased this scent when I was around 15 (although I believe this bottle is a newer one) because It was my friends favourite perfume, and to be honest it was cheap which was a main aspect in my choices back then. I purchased this from Priceline one afternoon when we had all gone shopping and it was kind of peer pressure, I never really loved the scent, although I wore it every day. The notes are described as a mix of Fruity and Floral with Nectarine, Bergamot, Rosewater and Lavender being the top notes although I cant really pick any of those besides the Lavender. For me this scent is oddly sweet and almost a little old for what I like, It also seems to just have too many notes and nothing that stands out. This scent also wears very strange on my skin and some of the more subtle, nice notes disappear and it is just an odd mix.
Covet By Sarah Jessica Parker:
Ah, another SJP Fragrance. This one has a slightly different story, I picked it up while visiting some friends during my gap year. I have accompanied a friend to a doctors appointment and when we were getting her prescription filled I decided to check out the perfumes. I gave this one a little spray onto my wrist and found it nice but a little too much, we left and went about our day. About three hours later I lifted my arm up to get something and caught a whiff of something delightful, and it was this. This Fragrance is one that settles on the skin so much the sent completely changes. The notes are Lavender, Dark Chocolate and Lemon and again I don’t really agree, there is something a little spicy and the Lemon is a top note but It is the deeper woody, musky notes that I can really smell. I still do like the Fragrance but I have found others I just love a whole lot more.
Daisy by Marc Jacobs:
Now this one might ruffle a few feathers but hear me out. This Fragrance was purchased again because everyone and their mum loved this scent and I kind of agreed. I do actually like this scent it is just very harsh which although I love strong scent, sharp is not something I am that into. With notes of Violet, Lemon, Strawberries and multiple flowers I only really notice the floral notes, maybe a little bit of the lemon and if you can’t tell by now Florals aren’t really my thing. This is another one that drastically changes on my skin, but not for the best. On me all of the base notes disappear and it is just that sickly overtone that remains, and it just doesn’t work. I will admit I do actually enjoy this one on others.
Reb’l Fleur by Rihanna
Yet another Celebrity Fragrance that just hasn’t hit the mark. As you can tell this is the scent I have used the least out of any fragrance I have owned. I picked this up in a Christmas gift pack after a number of people said it was just the best, I now disagree. The problem I have with this scent is it is just too much, it is so overwhelming and so long lasting that you cannot get away from it. One little spritz of the stuff and it will be attached to you for years, literally. The notes are Nectarine, Red Berries and Plum with under notes of Vanilla and Musk, as this post goes I disagree, I can really only pick some Vanilla and maybe a little Coconut, certainly no fruit, basically it’s just completely sickly sweet. No offence if you love this one but to me it smells like something you would wear up in da club to cover any other scents you don’t want around.
As you grow up we all change and grow as people and our scent desires just change, mine certainly have.
