Foundations, the literal base to all other products are an absolute essential to my everyday routine and so lets chat about four fabulous Foundations.
Loreal Lumi Magique ‘N1’
I have been a fan of the Lumi Magique Primer for the longest time and wanted to give the foundation a go. This is a medium build-able coverage product with a rather dewy finish. The colour match is terrible for me, being too dark and a tad to yellow but I can work around it with a whole lot of blending. I use this foundation on days where I just want my skin to look even and nice but not flawless. As I have oily skin I can only get a few hours wear out of it even with a primer and strong setting powder but I do enjoy it enough to keep it around.
Revlon Colourstay Combination-Oily ‘Ivory’
An Oldie but still a goody, the Revlon Colourstay Foundation for Combination-Oily skin is just amazing. The best part of this foundation for me is the colour match, ever since they released this lighter shade I have not found anything better #palegirlproblems. This has a Demi-Matte on me but on someone with dry skin I can see it being almost totally Matte. I still set this foundation with a powder because my skin is a train wreck but I can get away with a less full coverage powder when using this powder. This is a very full coverage foundation, the best on this list, although the coverage doesn’t flatten your skin tone too much. The wear time with this foundation is remarkable, I have yet to find a longer lasting base and that is what keeps it in rotation.
MAC Pro Longwear ‘NW15’
Another long lasting Foundation, the Pro Longwear is the only MAC Foundation I have tried so far but I am sure it wont be my last. Again the major down side for this product is colour match, as per-usual it is too dark and therefore too orange, and no, the NW range is not much of a better match. This is a Full coverage Foundation that covers anything you want, I would suggest using a lighter concealer to brighten up the darker areas of your face. The finish is not my favourite before being set with a powder, it just doesn’t look great on my skin, but not bad enough to not use it. The lasting power is very very good, I can get around 7 hours without needing touch ups which is great for me and I don’t notice any odd wearing throughout the day.
Bourjois Healthy Mix ’51’
My Current Favourite Foundation, where to start, ok lets get the negative out of the way, the colour match, same story different product, however not as bad as the others mentioned. This Foundation is the right tone just slightly too dark, but look I’m used to it. This is Medium, quite Build-able foundation that I find works wonderfully over my still quite scarred and sometimes acne prone skin but would not think the coverage would be ideal for those battling extreme acne of redness. The finish of this foundation is extremely skin like, even once a powder is applied which is my favourite thing about it, my face doesn’t look flat or dull like some other products can do. This foundation also holds up surprisingly well given that it is not a full coverage/matte foundation, giving me a good 6 hours wear before touch ups, however this is the only foundation on this list that does top up well.
