Over the past few weeks I have picked up a few new bits that have really added a new pop to my collection:
New to Me: I have never owned any of the By Terry Ombre Black Stars but now I own two (excited jump), I have the shades ‘Velvet Orchid’ and ‘ Blue Obsession’ and I am so hooked. I plan on getting the whole range now. As the two colours I have are not the most wearable in the collection I love using them as bases for other products or to add a small pop to an eye look.
New: A product that needs no introduction the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, an all time favourite and now something that comes in a jumbo size (YAY). Recently Hourglass upped their game and released a 60ml version of the all time best selling product and I could not be more happy. I am not a huge fan of the Matte White packaging as we know it is going to be trashed, nor am I a lover of the way the product comes out, however the fact that there is so much extra product and no chance of a faulty pump, sorry Hourglass, that is your one down fall. Best primer ever.
New: The newest to my collection is the Stila Stay All Day Precision Glide Brown Pencil in ‘Blonde’, if you want natural but defined brows this is a product for you. The product itself is a wax blend which makes the pencil harder when applying, creating a very hair like effect. The colour is also very natural, not too cool, not too warm just a nice balance for subtle brows. Although this is not my go to I do enjoy it for days when I want a more natural look or when I don’t want my brows to be as pronounced.
New to Me: An oldie but a goody, the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner is a staple in my collection and I have recently added two new shades to my routine. The shade ‘Midnight’ is a deep rich blue shade which is a great as a transition colour if you want to try something a little different from black. This shade would be amazing on anyone with blue eyes as it really pop’s on the eyes. I love wearing with this shade with pink or champagne shadows to really create a contrast. The other shade I have is ‘Snow’, a true white colour. This is the least wearable in the entire collection however if worn with another shade can be a really nice additive.
New: If you have never tried the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks you are missing out. Recently they released a few new shades into the range and they are just great. I picked up the colour ‘Candy’ which is a warm true pink which is very bright but beautiful on any skin tone. I think this was a welcome additive to the colour range as the original pink was fuchsia based and not super flattering all of the time. These are very long lasting, drying to a matte finish. I don’t find them super drying but they certainly aren’t hydrating. They have a habit of migrating onto my teeth for the first little while but when they do sit down they are not going to budge.
New: It will be very surprising if you have not already heard about this product. The YSL ‘Black Opium’ EDP is the newest addition to the YSL Fragrance line, Launching just in time for the Christmas Rush last year and only in exclusive locations. I was lucky enough to receive this as a Christmas gift. With top notes of Pink Pepper and Orange Blossom with scent is both spicy and sweet however sets to an incredibly rich mix of vanilla, coffee and ceder which is super long lasting a kind of sexy. If you love ‘D&G The One Gold’ or ‘Diesel Loverdose’ you will be sure to have a new favourite.
New: Finally we have the product that has changed my whole make up routine and love for powders, the Smashbox ‘Photo Filter Powder Foundation’. I have always needed to use powders but have never found one that I love this much. This powder is so finely milled that it blends with foundation so perfectly that you can’t even see the powder on the skin. It doesn’t take away the glow of your skin while keeping you matte all day. It doesn’t separate throughout the day but also layers nicely if you do have to touch up (not likely). The shade selection is very impressive for a powder range. I love this stuff.
