While the weather may be cooling down my passion for pinks certainly isn’t. So as a compromise I have decided to go all out matte but keep the bright shades for a while. Here is a run down on a few of my favourite matte makers.
Starting off with one of my all time favourite lip products is the Revlon Matte Balm in ‘Unapologetic’. This is one of my favourite matte formula’s, it is completely matte while not being drying of patchy at all, they wear wonderfully on the lips and layer very easily unlike most of the other matte products on the market. The shade is a warm coral based pink that would work on almost any skin tone but is perfect for the warmer months or when you feel like you need a pick me up!
The newest addition to my Matte collection is the Nars Audacious Lipstick in ‘Greta’. Firstly this is a great formula, completely matte finish while having a slightly satin feel on the lips. I personally find they last better with a lip liner. This colour is a very true pink, slightly warm but not coral based, perfect for anytime of the year, or any make up look at all.
The brightest of them all the Smashbox Lipstick in ‘Electric Pink’ is also the mattest and driest of them all. This is again a coral based pink but is a whole lot brighter. This formula is slightly harder to apply then all of the others as it is very dry, so if you want very matte lips this might be the one for you. This colour works best with warm toned or bronzed looks.
Finally we have the Topshop Lipstick in ‘All About Me’, a true classic and the most worn on the list. This is a true cool toned pink, amazing for the cooler months. This colour works for almost any look but is amazing on any skin tone at all. The formula is extremely long wearing without being too drying. It doesn’t go patchy even after reapplying or eating.
