If you are Northern Hemispherian you may not realise that Down Under we spend Christmas with 30 Degree days and clear blue skies, not your average Christmas. This makes it kind of difficult to always celebrate the in traditional sense. On a hot sunny day you are not going to sit inside by the fire and its not ideal to have to spend all day cooking a roast, so why not spice things up a little and make this a more Aussie based experience.
Idea 1: Take things outside
-Whether you live by the beach, or more inland, most of you will have access to some sort of out door area, so why not take things outside? Although this also has its problems (hello mosquitos) it can be a great way to change the atmosphere. It also opens up a whole new styling scene for you.
Idea 2: Native Plants
-Native Plants are a great way to make the Christmas decor a little more Australian. Who needs pine and rosemary when you can have Eucalypts and Wattle. This will give a much more relaxed feel, plus it will be much easier to locate.
Idea 3: Take the simple approach to Food
-Australia is all about taking the easy route, and why not take the same approach with the food. Keep it to the basics, or prepare it the day before. Wether you are chucking it all in the oven or slow cooker or decide to have a non cook meal, save some time and plan ahead.
