Where to even start with this product! This is my Holy Grail, Best of all time mask and oily skin/break out fighter.
For a bit of background I have extremely oily skin that is mainly in my T Zone but also a little bit everywhere else, I have large, open pores which get clogged easily which is not the best when I have to use long wear make up everyday. I also suffer from ongoing cystic acne and have so for over 10 years which comes and goes but is always present and lingering.
GlamGlow as a company is a bit of a sensation in the Beauty world, from the launch of their YouthMud (the ever favourite and in my mind overhyped mask) that started it all, all the way through to their recent launch of FlashMud (which I do love a lot).
I discovered SuperMud eighteen months ago on recommendation of Shaaanxo as well as a few different people who had mentioned it to me in store. I’m sure by now you have heard a whole bunch about this product and probably forgotten about everything you have heard except that it is good so lets have a little refresher.
The idea behind the mask is to draw out oil from the pores and imperfection while using ingredients to kill the bacteria (Tee Tree and Salicylic Acid) as well as calming ingredients (Chamomile and Vitamin E) to calm irritation and redness. Through these steps it is going to help reduce the oil and bacteria levels in the skin, stopping or slowing the production of blemishes on the surface of the skin and balance out the PH levels.
The list of good ingredients goes on and on with the active ingredients being Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf, Mandelic Acid, Charcoal Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Pyruvic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Iron Oxides, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Glycerin, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract, Hendera Helix Extract, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract. These ingredients are designed to remove excess oil, kill bacteria, smooth and soften the skin, calm down irritation and generally balance the skin surface.
I apply this mask two times a week as needed and leave for thirty minutes to allow the product to work to its full potential. It will go on a deep charcoal colour and dry to a light bluish grey with little black dots where the oil has been drawn out. I then use a warm wash cloth to slowly remove the mask without rubbing the skin. It is very important to hydrate the skin after use because of the drying ingredients.
I will be using this mask for as long as they make it to keep my skin clear and bright.
