If you haven’t heard of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecters before chances are you have been living under a massive rock because there is someone talking about them everyday. In all honesty I am pretty new to them as I only purchased my first (Moonstone) towards the end of last year, and have only owned ‘Champagne Pop’ since Christmas. That being said I LOVE THEM.
There is a lot of hype regarding ‘Champagne Pop’ and it is currently the most popular collaboration beauty release in history. Because of this I wanted to give you a run down on how I compare both ‘Champagne Pop’ and ‘Moonstone’.
Starting with ‘Moonstone’, this shade is a soft, pale champagne shade with a true yellow base, no silver or pink tones which makes it very easy to wear on any skin tone. The texture is incredibly smooth, there are no chunks or large shimmers that will exaggerate texture on the skin. As far are the reflection that it gives, it is quite stunning, not the strongest I have ever seen but not far from there either. I find that I reach for ‘Moonstone’ when I want a nice everyday glow or am looking to add a nice highlight without it leaving too golden because it will look strange with neutral or pink based shades. I would easily compare ‘Moonstone’ to The Balms ‘Maryloumanizer’.
‘Champagne Pop’ is a rich, golden toned highlighter that works perfectly well with anyone that has a yellow based skin, I would not personally apply this product to anyone with even a slight pink base as you will be able to see the colour difference far too much. Again the texture is very smooth, gliding onto the skin with no issue, however you can see the product on the skin slightly more. I find ‘Champagne Pop’ has a softer texture then ‘Moonstone’ especially when applying as you barely need to touch the brush into ‘Champagne Pop’ where as you can be slightly more heavy handed with ‘Moonstone’.
Overall I am very happy I own them both and would repurchase them again, I do find that I reach for ‘Champagne Pop’ more at the moment as I have slightly more of a tan and like how it warms up my skin.
I hope this has helped you with any questions you have had about these two products, if you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.
